When at night her feet grew roots
and her chest split open
waking her
she stood in front of a mirror
to examine her breasts
where a new lump
sprouted under her fingers
the size of a pebble
yet felt like a stone
thrown at her standing
in the middle of a stadium
to punish her body
for allowing a man to worship it
for baring her breasts
able to turn water
into nourishment
