Her elegant hands caressing rich dark fur,
smiling like she ate a muffin, eyes open
but in a closed place, she’s not the diamond
set above the BULOVA, she’s the spoke of the time.
Let her through.
Night can be white.
Let her through.
She’s not a dancer.
Let her through.
Step to the side of the black line.
Intelligent bird resting on the pillow she filled—
luxury bill listing leeward seeks a harbor’s open beak.
She’s not through yet.

He was the editor of Now Culture, the art editor of The Shit Creek Review, and remains a Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow Gang Member.
