It thrives amid<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nnative flora, wildlife and limited access to man.<br \/>\nShadowboxing Arctic hares, clinging jellyfish, bonebeds<br \/>\nand badlands on Fossil Freeway in South Dakota.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nMe\u2014I\u2019m the woman with medicine in her voice,<br \/>\na forest bather mating like a corpse plant, melting into time,<br \/>\nfloating toward a twelfth life like a trumpeter swan.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAmy Barone\u2019s poetry collection, <em>We Became Summer,<\/em> from New York Quarterly Books, was released in early 2018.
