in particular mine more than others.<\/p>\n
As if my way of offering fulfillment<\/p>\n
required a reversal of what you assume<\/p>\n
to be a branch stripped of green<\/p>\n
down to the buds black beginning.<\/p>\n
Is this why lips feel no pain<\/p>\n
when branding the heart with lies,<\/p>\n
when disengaged the mind pretends<\/p>\n
it has nothing to do with silence<\/p>\n
and the romance we have with rope?<\/p>\n

At least admitting mutual affection<\/p>\n
for seasons after the burning ends,<\/p>\n
like swans who only dream of flying,<\/p>\n
cursing the wind and rain,<\/p>\n
we are the garment of thick, blue ice,<\/p>\n
proving how wrong the light can be<\/p>\n
about its power to save what the ground<\/p>\n
will not release to the sky.<\/p>\n
I could be addicted to light,<\/p>\n
