\nStubborn life against a brick wall,
\nlike a snail, follows along,
\npersistent,
\nclose to the ground\u2014
\nthat shiny trail, evidence
\nin the morning
\nof one who makes a path
\nout of their insides.<\/p>\n
BROKEN<\/strong> <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Amaranth Pavis has been published in Long Shot, Confrontation, Left Curve, The New York Quarterly and many other journals. She worked in an oil refinery as a pipefitter for fourteen years, and as a special education teacher for twelve years. She has a Masters in English and Special Education, and has worked as an adjunct English professor in area colleges.
