THE THIRD ROCK<\/strong>
\n 
\nfrom somewhere up
\nlooks like an abstract work of art\u2014
\n 
\nsplashes of blue pacific waters
\n& blurred lands smeared by cirrus.
\n 
\nwhen one stays there for a while
\neven the grass blades threaten.
\n 
\nmountains spew volcanic ash
\nsoil trembles and traps
\n 
\nwheels spin upside down
\nwith bodies still buckled in.
\n 
\nsomewhere in midday light
\na girl is raped & stabbed
\n 
\na saffron flower in her hair\u2014
\na woman fights for her breath
\n 
\na ventilator tube in her mouth.
\nmeanwhile little fingers
\n 
\ncount dots on ladybugs
\nsweet mango juice smears the chins
\n 
\nswans\u2019 long necks bend
\nwith tenderness towards each other
\n 
\n& lovers fall asleep easily
\na new life forming
\n 
\nunder the wisps of clouds
\n <\/p>\n

\nTHE GOD PARTICLE<\/strong>
\n 
\na loud thud disrupts
\nmy morning meditation
\non the higgs boson\u2014
\n 
\nthose yellow & green waves
\nthat smashed in blackness & keep
\nthe universe on the verge
\n 
\ni gasp when on a sunlit window
\ni notice a shadow\u2014
\nan imprint of tiny feathers
\n 
\nv-shaped wings rising
\nabove a round belly & small head
\ntwisted at an angle
\n 
\nwhat an impact it must have been
\nthat hurled its lifeless body
\nyards away from the sky\u2019s reflection!
\n 
\nbluebirds bring a message
\nof hope but this one
\nmistook glass for air
\n 
\nmy home for heaven
\n
